Sending off to powder coat
After much deliberation about the finish of the case, with the help of dutchcedar, I decided to go with powder coating. Luckily, there is a local powder coater in town, Central Coast Powder Coaters, who did a great job and gave me a great deal. To get the case ready for powder coat, I sanded everything down with my random orbital sander and filled any scratches and screw holes with J.B. Weld.
But before I sent it off, I grabbed a few more pics of the finished internal frame…
And...
We're almost at the end... for those of you who have read all of my worklog so far, thanks. For those of you interested in just the final product, well... that's on the next page. But before we go there, I just wanted to say a few thanks to everyone who helped make Yuugou a success:
This project would not have been possible without the help of numerous people and companies. I’d like to thank
BFG Tech,
Corsair Memory,
SilverStone and Central Coast Powder Coaters. I’d also like to thank dutchceder for help with the aluminium, and Modsquad and SSR for their constant support. I’d also like to thank my friend Taro for helping with the Japanese characters, Jeff for getting this case up and running, and Carl for assisting me with the logistics of the case and helping me whenever I needed it.
I'd also like to thank the Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo Photo lab and the College of Architecture and Environmental Design support shop. Without them, the case wouldn't have been built and I wouldn't have these great pictures.
Last but not least, I’d like to thank the
bit-tech staff and the rest of the
bit-tech community for their constant support and advice. This case wouldn’t have happened without all of you guys.
If you want to see what other projects I have lurking about, check out my own site at
www.nickfalzonedesign.com. Of course, you'll always be able to seem my case mods here in the
bit-tech forums.
Thanks for reading!
